How To Choose The Right Handmade Area Rugs For Your Bathrooms

Just like kitchens, bathrooms are rooms that people get scared of placing rugs in and this fear is absolutely unfounded.  Hand-knotted wool rugs handle moisture very well and they feel great under bare feet. Usually the bathrooms can be done with rug(s) in from of the sink(s), or one larger rug in the center of the room.  Depending on the size and configuration of the bathroom, they usually are very versatile and can be done in many different ways.  The advantage of placing rugs in front of the sink(s) or vanities is that you stand there a lot and having the cushiony feeling of the rug under your feet is wonderful.

Placing a rug in front of the shower or bathtub is also a great idea; don’t worry about stepping on it with wet feet because the rug can handle it.

You can also go a bit wild when decorating the bathrooms.  Unlike other rooms of the house that are visible from different areas, the bathrooms are usually isolated, thus allowing you to deviate from the rest of the house and doing something fun and different in these rooms.  I highly recommend doing handmade rugs in the bathrooms, specially the master bathroom, because you spend so much time of your day there.

Regular moisture on rugs is usually no problem at all, especially in a place like Arizona with such dry weather.  If you live in a very humid environment, then it may need to dry them under the sun when they get wet.  But even in a dry climate like Arizona, if a rug gets very wet, then you should dry it in the sun.  It helps to push the water out first with any kind of a metal or wooden roller, and then dry in the sun.  Don’t leave it in the sun for too long because it will fade over time.

Alyshaan fine rugs located in the Phoenix valley, in Scottsdale Arizona, have 3200 rugs in stock that are also viewable online at, giving you a lot of choices to decorate every room of the house.
